NIWA TANZANITE

The Lelatema mountain project in the prolific Merelani hills spans 0.31&0.29 hectares, with 0.6 hectares already secured for investment.
A unique method of resource calculation had to be developed for the mine, since the grade of the deposit cannot be surveyed from drill holes along the standard procedures. Estimation was subsequently developed from the geological knowledge of the deposit as defined through our studies
The geological data was combined with the recorded data from the mine in order to derive acceptable ore resource estimates:
- During the period 2009 to the end of 2011 systematic mining by Rahim Massawe (PML0002579) resulted in 28,000t of mined and processed mineralized material at an overall tanzanite recovery of 33ct/t
- The volume and tonnage of the ore zone (JW-D zone) in Block D can be estimated by considering the length of the strike an average thickness and an estimated dip extent as indicated from the diamond drilling. On the basics of a 2km strike a 400m dip extent, an average thickness of 3.0m and specific gravity of 2.65 an estimated 6.36 million t of ore zone is present in block d area at a depth of 400m

From the geological model various different methods were used to estimate the ore resources of Block D area
- Method 1
Mine recovery factors indicate that between 15and 20% of the JW d-zone is highly mineralized .This results in a resource of 0.55 million tones for 31 million cts to 1.26 million tones for 83 million cts - Method 2
Recorded grams per fold stack:
Shaft a- 525115.00g (2625575ct)
The down dip extent of JW D zone has been proven by core drilling to a vertical depth of 283m
- Method 3
-The average dimensions of the boudinaged isoclinal fold hinges (ore shoots are 120m by 2.5m by 3.5m
