Geological Summary:
The Songwe Gold Project is located within the mineral-rich extension of the Lupa Goldfields Belt, an emerging gold corridor in Southwestern Tanzania. The area is geologically defined by greenstone belts, quartz vein systems, and sheared host rocks, typical of orogenic gold mineralization. Early indications suggest favorable structures for gold-bearing zones, particularly along fault lines and hydrothermally altered zones.
The average head grade for gold in this region typically ranges from 1.5 to 5 grams per tonne (g/t Au). Artisanal pits often report grades between 1–2.5 g/t, while more developed shear-hosted zones have shown potential for 3–5 g/t or higher. This positions Songwe as a strategic and scalable exploration opportunity within Tanzania’s underexplored gold terrain.
This acquisition strengthens Niwa’s presence in the Southwest gold corridor, paving the way for systematic exploration, partnership development, and long-term project value.
